Despite being a restaurant, Paak Dang is not just about food. Our aim is to deliver a multi-sensory dining experience that will leave our guests with many fond memories. Set in a classical Lanna Style teakwood house right on the Ping River…
Loy Krathong is celebrated annually throughout Thailand. The name could be translated as “to float a basket”, and comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are floated on a river. The grandest celebrations are in Chiang Mai where sky lanterns are also released.
Come release your Sky Lanterns and Krathongs on the River Ping at Paak Dang. Paak Dang is the PERFECT place to savour authentic Thai food whilst enjoying our rustic ambience. We will have a short talk explaining the meaning of Loy Krathong and its traditions during dinner.
As we were unable to get our new location up and running in time for Loy Krathong this year, we hope to be able to celebrate this special occasion with you in 2023! A Special Paak Dang Loy Krathong Menu will be served with fixed dinner seating timings at 5pm (to watch the beautiful sunset) and 8.30pm (for a fireworks display if allowed).
